David Robinson is a community worker, the Founder of Community Links and now its Senior Adviser (www.community-links.org). Community Links work with more than 30,000 people a year through an extensive network of community development projects in East London. This local experience is shared with policy makers and practitioners internationally through publications, training and consultancy.David is also the founder and, now chair of We Are What We Do (www.wearewhatwedo.org), co-founder of the Children’s Discovery Centre, and a founding Trustee of TimeBank. He worked with Gordon Brown on the Prime Minister’s book Britain’s Everyday Heroes and led the Prime Minister’s Council on Social Action where the development of the Social Impact Bond was first progressed.Other publications, alone or with others, include Unconditional Leadership, Living Values, Enduring Change and the bestseller Change the World for a Fiver. Recognition for David’s work includes an honorary doctorate from the Open University and an OBE. Current priorities include the development of new work on prevention and early intervention particularly focusing on “deep value” services.
