Alisa Helbitz joined Social Finance in 2010 as Director of Research and Communications. She leads our external affairs work and coordinates the global communications activities with Social Finance US. Alisa has built and executed the communications strategy for Social Impact Bonds which have been widely reported in the Economist, New York Times and FT amongst others, and has taken the organisation from an unknown start-up to the second most recognised brand in the global impact investing market.
Alisa has spent the last ten years at the forefront of building the impact investing market place, initially as head of communications for Sir Ronald Cohen in his capacity as Chair of the UK Social Investment Task Force, Chair of Bridges Ventures and the Chair of the Commission on Unclaimed Assets. In this role she co-authored the Commission on Unclaimed Assets which called for the creation of a social investment bank, now Big Society Capital. Alisa has twenty years’ experience of applying communications strategies to deliver long term social outcomes. Her career has spanned diplomacy and economic development in the Middle East (through the British Embassy in Tel Aviv and the Portland Trust) to global impact investment market building.
